How can one endure with anti-Gypsyism in a neighborhood cut off from the world ? Between 2007 and 2022, Stefka Stefanova Nikolova's life unfolds in a segregated and precarious daily existence.

Stefka Stefanova Nikolova, a resident of the Roma neighborhood of Nadezhda on the outskirts of Sliven in eastern Bulgaria, is the author of texts in which she expresses her feelings about the future of the world in which she and her fellow Roma find themselves. Cécile Canut first met her within these walls in 2007, forming a long-lasting friendship with her. It was in this neighborhood, cut off from the rest of the city, that the images resulting from a shared life experience were filmed, constituting an archive of the inhumanity of a precarious daily life, the result of devastating segregation and racism.

Stefka Stefanova Nikolova, résidente du quartier rom de Nadezhda à la périphérie de Sliven dans l’est de la Bulgarie, est l’autrice de textes où elle livre ses sentiments sur le devenir du monde dans lequel elle et ses semblables se voient projetés. C’est entre les murs que Cécile Canut l’a rencontrée pour la première fois en 2007, nouant avec elle une longue amitié. C’est dans ce quartier coupé du reste de la ville qu’ont été tournées les images résultant d’une expérience commune de vie, constituant les archives de l’inhumanité d’un quotidien précarisé, fruit d’une ségrégation et d’un racisme dévastateurs.
